Mauler

From Combat Robot

Built by the South Bay RoboWarriors (AKA the Tilford Clan), 'South Bay Mauler' made its first apperence at the 1994 US Robot Wars as a 70 pound 'middleweight' black cylinder with spinning maces on the top.

The 160-pound 'heavyweight' Mauler '95 made its appearance at the 1995 Robot Wars event. This was the first 'tuna can' full-body spinner combat robot -- the entire outer shell of the robot rotated at high speed to wield assorted attached weapons. Improved versions of the robot continued to compete thru the BattleBots series and on into the Steel Conflict tournaments.

Mauler is an inaugural member of The Combat Robot Hall of Fame.
