Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries use the standard automotive battery chemistry, but have special housings that prevent acid spills when inverted or otherwise abused. The electrolyte my be liquid, a gel (Gel Cell). or absorbed into an un-spillable mass (Absorbed Electrolyte).
