Carbon fiber
From Combat Robot
Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CF) is a very stiff, strong, light, and expensive composite material. Similar to glass reinforced plastic (fiberglass), the composite material is commonly referred to by the name of its reinforcing fibers. Less commonly, the term graphite-reinforced plastic (GRP) is also used. The plastic is most often epoxy, but other plastics are also sometimes used.
Carbon fiber composites are typically used in smaller combat robots as chassis material, drop skirts, wedges, and armor. The high cost of the material limits use in larger 'bots.
